I am a non-binary person of color who has so much unlearning and re-learning to do. It starts with not only real conversations with people who understand my experience, but also people who absolutely don’t.

Gndr was created as a result of that realization. With my prior experience of working closely with THE SKIN DEEP team in creating spaces both physically and digitally for people to share vulnerable connections through questions, I have learned how to ask the right ones. It is not a product to be sold, but a product to be shared.

Outside of the typical dysphoria moments such as navigating binary toilets and retail stores, gender as a construct can be a difficult and sometimes spiraling conversation.

It opens up a road to a journey that is complicated in a world that has constructed everything around the patriarchal idea of gender in its purest binary form.

My hope with this is to create a community of people who want to disrupt the binary by understanding that sharing and hearing is a way to understand and have mutual respect for the various journeys that gender can be for different people.  It takes time to dismantle ideas that are embedded in everything around you, so take your time.
